SNSTA Conference: Science, It’s In Our DNA, February 10 & 11, 2017

Western High School in Las Vegas is hosting this year’s annual regional K-12 science conference February 10-11, 2017. This conference is sponsored by the Southern Nevada Science Teacher Association (SNSTA), Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program (SNRPDP), and Clark County School District – Instructional Design and Professional Learning Division (IDPL).

The conference will be held on February 10 from 4:30 PM-8:30 PM and Saturday, February 11 from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM at

This year’s conference theme, Science, It’s In Our DNA, offers over 70 workshop-style sessions where participants experience content, instructional strategies, and resources which support the newly revised Nevada Academic Content Standards for Science (NVACSS), based upon the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

** Keynote Speakers include Page Keeley and Paige Hernandez

Five (5) conference strands offer participants a themed experience:

  • Technology, Coding and Apps in the Classroom
  • S.T.E.A.M.
  • Partnering with Informal Educators
  • 3-Dimensional Science Learning
  • Biology and the Life Sciences

  • 2017-2018 Membership to the Nevada State Science Teachers Association (NSSTA)
  • 2017-2018 Membership to the Southern Nevada Science Teachers Association (SNSTA)
  • Sessions, Meals, and a Ticket for drawing prizes

CCSD teachers can earn 4 CUs for full conference participation OR 5 CUs if the participant registers for the *PDE credit.
